Your home will be featured in the local MLS (RMLS) for a flat fee for 6-12 months, depending on your program. The seller must agree to a pay a commission to an RMLS real estate agent should they bring you a buyer in the sale of your home. If the seller sells the home without any involvement from an agent, the seller pays no commission. The Buyer's agent commission is typically between 2% and 3%. The commission amount is entirely up to the seller and must be stated upfront in the MLS listing.
